District dossiers
These are playable chronicle territories, not official neighborhood jurisdictions. See the atlas for the current geographic shapes and their documented sources. Each opening move below is a new 2026 chronicle prompt.
01 · Georgetown / Burleith
DC · Camarilla · Old money, old debts
Private salons and inherited favors sustain a polished court. Its claim is socially convincing, but river crossings and rival hospitality make every invitation political.
Opening move: An invitation carries two incompatible promises. Which host will the coterie disappoint?
02 · Dupont / Kalorama / Embassy Row
DC · Camarilla · Diplomatic domain
A district of introductions, diplomatic cover and guarded salons. Feeding privileges are negotiated as carefully as treaties; legitimacy does not guarantee safety.
Opening move: A guest vanishes between two salons. Both hosts insist the other guaranteed safe passage.
03 · Downtown / Federal Triangle / Penn Quarter
DC · Disputed · Federal corridor
No court can comfortably hold the federal core. The chronicle folds Foggy Bottom and West End into this corridor, where access matters more than possession.
Opening move: A routine administrative record contradicts a century of carefully curated identity.
04 · Capitol Hill / Eastern Market
DC · Camarilla · Claimed, actively contested
The court claims prestige and proximity to power, while rival intermediaries dispute the practical right to hunt. Public space offers little cover.
Opening move: A mortal contact asks for protection in exchange for a favor no faction wants documented.
05 · Navy Yard / Buzzard Point / Wharf
DC · Sabbat · Remnant raiding ground
Redevelopment disrupts old routes along the water. Remnant packs treat the district as a passage and staging ground rather than a secure capital.
Opening move: A closed construction entrance becomes a nightly route for someone who never appears on camera.
06 · Shaw / U Street / Logan Circle
DC · Anarch · A barony under strain
Nightlife and mutual obligation keep a precarious barony alive. Gentrification, court pressure and internal rivalries test every claim to solidarity.
Opening move: Two barons promise the same hunting block to different newcomers.
07 · Columbia Heights / Mount Pleasant / Adams Morgan
DC · Anarch · Fractured street alliances
A coalition of small domains resists a single ruler. Independent feeders and occult visitors make hospitality valuable and territorial certainty rare.
Opening move: An unaffiliated feeder has been paying protection to three incompatible patrons.
08 · Brookland / Catholic U / Fort Totten
DC · Sabbat · Occult foothold
Remnant packs use the chronicle’s hidden ritual routes and forgotten rooms. Their foothold is precarious; it does not imply control over the district’s mortal institutions.
Opening move: A stolen ritual object returns to its owner with a different inscription every dawn.
09 · H Street NE / Trinidad / Ivy City
DC · Anarch · Border under pressure
Anarch hosts defend a porous boundary between nightlife and industrial spaces. Encroachment makes a quiet warehouse as important as a public venue.
Opening move: A warehouse meeting is interrupted by a messenger carrying the wrong faction’s safe-conduct.
10 · Anacostia / Congress Heights / Barry Farm
DC · Sabbat · Unstable remnant claims
The chronicle places a violent supernatural holdout here, challenged by local resistance and river spirits. These fictional claims describe predators, not the people who live here.
Opening move: A pack’s abandoned refuge has become a place of sanctuary that neither side expected.
11 · Rock Creek / Cathedral / Upper Northwest
DC · Disputed · Spirit wilds
Green corridors interrupt the city’s political geometry. Kindred titles carry little weight where spirits and shifters decide who may pass after dark.
Opening move: A safe route through the park stops leading to the same exit.
12 · National Mall / Monument Core
DC · Restricted · No ordinary hunting
The monument core is a restricted meeting ground rather than a feeding domain. Memorial resonance and mortal scrutiny make every supernatural visit consequential.
Opening move: A messenger proposes an exchange at a memorial, precisely at the hour the dead assemble.
13 · Rosslyn / Courthouse / Clarendon
VA · Disputed · Contractor corridor
Glass towers and cross-river mobility support many competing intermediaries. The public atlas records a disputed corridor; a claim of ownership is difficult to verify.
Opening move: An intermediary offers the same contract to both sides of a cross-river dispute.
14 · Crystal City / Pentagon City / National Landing
VA · Disputed · Surveilled logistics corridor
Movement, logistics and office anonymity draw opportunists into a heavily scrutinized corridor. A convenient rendezvous can become an exposure in minutes.
Opening move: A delivery intended for a mortal contractor arrives with instructions addressed to the coterie.
15 · Old Town Alexandria
VA · Camarilla · An adjacent court
Historic prestige supports a proud local court. Its hosts cooperate with Washington while carefully preserving their own privileges and riverfront traditions.
Opening move: A visiting envoy claims an old waterfront debt outranks the local court’s hospitality.
16 · Fairfax / Tysons / Merrifield
VA · Disputed · Institutional crossroads
Several separated suburban centers form a playable corridor, not a continuous domain. Corporate and occult networks contest the links between them.
Opening move: A research contractor’s after-hours meeting repeats in three buildings on the same night.
17 · Arlington Cemetery / Pentagon Fringe
VA · Restricted · Special exclusion zone
A chronicle abstraction of a sensitive fringe, not an access guide or military perimeter. The dead and mortal scrutiny make ordinary territorial politics inadequate.
Opening move: An oath remembered by the dead demands a witness who has no right to enter.
18 · Bethesda / Chevy Chase
MD · Camarilla · Quiet satellite domain
Wealth, donor circles and discreet hospitality sustain a suburban court. Medical and research networks attract other powers to the same invitations.
Opening move: A donor’s promise is recorded in two ledgers, one mortal and one occult.
19 · Silver Spring / Takoma
MD · Anarch · Pragmatic border barony
Cross-border mobility favors practical alliances over doctrine. Occult visitors and transient hunting arrangements make trust the most useful currency.
Opening move: A haven’s owner offers refuge only if the guests carry a message across the boundary.
20 · Hyattsville / College Park / Riverdale
MD · Disputed · Transient alliances
Students, rentals and transit sustain shifting Anarch presences alongside other occult interests. No single coalition has made its claim stick.
Opening move: A campus archive lends a book that remembers everyone who has opened it.
21 · Suitland / Temple Hills / Largo
MD · Sabbat · Routes and war shelters
Separated suburban pockets form a remnant route network. The chronicle’s supernatural shelters are precarious and do not define these mortal communities.
Opening move: A courier abandons a route map whose destinations are names rather than addresses.
22 · National Harbor / Oxon Hill
MD · Disputed · Riverfront crossroads
Visitor traffic and river access create a contested exchange ground. Every faction can find a reason to meet here, and few can safely claim permanence.
Opening move: A riverfront auction offers a favor that its seller has already pledged to the dead.
Boundaries and setting provenance
All 2026 district claims, detailed ratings, summaries and scene hooks are new chronicle material based on the accepted Fractured City framework. They are separate from published historical canon in DC by Night and Beckett’s Jyhad Diary. Public overlays are rumors and leads, not confirmed operational intelligence or real-world risk assessments.
Territories use geographic polygons derived from DC planning clusters and US Census ACS 2025 places. DC planning clusters are not official neighborhood borders. Every atlas district is a custom chronicle grouping; each dossier identifies source units and any approximate cuts. Arlington corridors, Old Town, the Monument Core, Kalorama and the H Street division have explicit custom boundaries. Some suburban territories have separated pieces.
